Over the past 3 years, community feedback has consistently highlighted the need for more adequate indoor athletic & fitness space. To address our residents' needs, we've placed a bond referendum on the November 3, 2026 ballot to construct a new, multigenerational Community Activity Center to replace the outdated Community Center at 1825 Short St. The existing Recreation Center at 1925 Ohio St. would remain in operation.
To help you make an informed decision, we are holding two public information sessions where park district staff will review the current proposed building design, possible programming & space use, and potential taxpayer implications & overall cost. Our staff will be available to answer your questions and receive feedback on the proposed project.
