NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Ohio Street / Ohio Court / Short Street Resurfacing Project

Lisle, IL – This notice is to inform you that the Ohio Street / Ohio Court / Short Street resurfacing project will begin performing roadway replacement activities beginning on Thursday, June 22.

Road work activities will begin on the following streets:

  • Ohio Street from Yackley Avenue to Ohio Court
  • Ohio Court from Ohio Street to Short Street
  • Short Street from Ohio Court to Route 53

Weather permitting, this work is expected to last a few weeks, and will consist of the removal and replacement of the asphalt surface. The existing roadway will be milled down 3 inches to the base course. Driving surfaces will be rough until the first layer of asphalt is installed (weather pending) on Wednesday, June 28. Temporary lane restrictions, traffic detours and delays should be expected. Motorists are encouraged to use alternative travel routes during this time if available.

During the milling and paving operations there will be a local traffic detour in place. Ohio Street from Academy Drive to University Lane will be open to Local Traffic only (shaded in orange on the map). Any motorists that do not need to access businesses in the closure will be detoured around the northern leg of the neighborhood to Ohio Court. Outside of the closure, flaggers will manage traffic per IDOT standards. Within the closure, motorists will be able to access properties with flagger assistance. Please approach the closure with caution and ensure construction personnel are aware you have entered the closure.
