EDGE – Extended Day, Great Experiences!

Previously called the Before & After School Program

The Lisle Park District, in cooperation with Community Unit School District 202, offers affordable before and after school recreation programs. The EDGE Program serves Lisle Park District residents kindergarten through 5th grade, who attend District 202 schools. The EDGE AM program takes place at Lisle Elementary School, while the EDGE PM program is held at the Lisle Recreation Center. Activities include organized crafts, sports, games, and homework time as well as unstructured time to socialize and play.

EDGE follows Lisle Elementary School calendar. EDGE will not operate on days off, institute days or days when school is canceled for inclement weather. EDGE will offer half day programs.

Download our EDGE registration form or pick one up at the Lisle Recreation Center front desk. Forms should NOT be turned into the school office. Forms must be turned in at the Lisle Recreation Center front desk. No emailed forms will be accepted. You will receive an email and receipt once your child’s registration is complete. Space is limited for each program.

We ask that families commit to the same schedule each week at the time of initial registration. We understand that there will be times you will need to adjust your child’s schedule but knowing ahead of time how many children will be joining us each day, helps us plan for staffing and activities in advance.

We understand that sometimes schedules change. Please contact our front desk to make any changes. All changes must be done at least a week ahead of time with the deadline being the Wednesday of the previous week. All changes will be subject to a $10.00 change fee. Any changes to your child’s schedule after the deadline will not be accepted. To change your schedule, call or email Jill Jehs at jjehs@lisleparkdistrict.org or at 630-353-4345.

For those registered each week, we will automatically collect payment for the month on the first business day of each month. If you are registering your child for only one week every so often, we will collect payment from you at time of registration. Enrollment must be done by Wednesday of the previous week. We will not accept late registrations. We cannot transfer days or issue refunds for days missed.

The EDGE programs are contingent on meeting minimum enrollment. There will be a $10 fee for late payments.

If you no longer need your child enrolled in the EDGE program, please contact Jill Jehs at jjehs@lisleparkdistrict.org to begin the withdrawal process. Future payments will be cancelled but no refunds will be issued. Withdrawal requests must be made before the next automatic payment is processed (first business day of the month).

If your child requires inclusion assistance or other reasonable accommodations, please note that on your registration form. We advise 2-week advance notice in order to secure an inclusion aide for your child. You will receive confirmation from the park district when an aide has been secured.

ADA Accommodation or Assistance for Programming

The Lisle Park District welcomes and supports the participation of individuals with special needs in all programs, activities, and services. If any person wishing to participate in a Lisle Park District program has special needs that must be accommodated to enable participation, that person (or parent/guardian) must notify the Park District. The Lisle Park District will do what is reasonably possible to satisfy those needs.

Steps To Secure ADA Accommodations or Assistance:
  • 1. It is recommended to register for program(s) at least 2 weeks prior to program start date.
  • 2. Submit a request for ADA Accommodation or Assistance in any program. This request is required at time of registration. Please fill out the assistance or accommodations section on our program registration form.
Request includes, but is not limited to: Inclusion Aides, Sign Language Interpreters, Adaptive Equipment and Accessible Transportation.
  • 3. Parent/Guardian will be contacted within 48 hours of registration to discuss and determine level of support needed. We will do our very best, but we can’t guarantee an aide will be secured prior to the program start date.
  • 4. If we are able to secure an aide, SEASPAR (South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation) or the AIDE will contact you. For more information about SEASPAR, visit seaspar.org.
  • 5. For more information, or if you have not heard anything a day prior to the program start date, please contact Jon Pratscher, Superintendent of Recreation at 630-353-4305 or jpratscher@lisleparkdistrict.org
