COVID-19 Mitigation Strategy & Safety

***UPDATED JUNE 8, 2021*** The current procedures listed below follow Phase 5 of the Restore IL plan and will go into effect on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Operations will be adjusted based upon the current phase of the state plan and per discretion of staff.

Capacity Limits & Reservations

To allow for social distancing, Sea Lion Aquatic Park will operate with a capacity limit of 500 guests. Reservations are no longer required.

Social Distancing

Guests are expected to maintain at least six feet of social distance from others while at Sea Lion Aquatic Park. This includes while entering and exiting the facility, within the locker rooms and restrooms, on the pool deck, and in the water. Locker rooms will be reconfigured to maintain social distancing. When waiting in line to enter the facility, please follow the markings on the ground to maintain proper social distance.

Face Coverings

Patrons are not expected to wear a face covering when they are in the water or on the pool deck in their group's socially distanced area maintaining six (6) feet from other groups.

Those who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear face coverings when entering and exiting the facility, in the locker rooms and restrooms, and in the sand play area. You are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the administration of the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. By not wearing a face covering, you are acknowledging that you have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Staff will notify patrons of safety procedures prior to attending programs at the aquatic park, such as swim lessons, aqua fitness, and swim team.

When is the Sea Lion Aquatic Park Season?

Sea Lion Aquatic Park will be open June 5 - August 15.

What amenities will be open?

The main zero-depth pool, including the lap pool, vortex pool; the splash playground; the tot pool; and the sand play area will all be open, and guests have access to all of these areas during open swim. Unfortunately, the drop slides, deep hopper pool & snake feature, flume slides, leisure pool with waterfall, spa (hot tub), and concession stand will be closed.

What are the hours for open swim?

Open swim will be offered each day of the season from 11am-6pm. Guests are welcome to arrive any time during open swim and do not need a reservation. If the aquatic park reaches capacity, guests will be asked to either wait or return at a later time when there is more space available.

Will I be able to buy a pool pass for the 2021 Season?

No. Due to the limited number of people that will be allowed to use the pool, our traditional membership structure will not be offered. You can purchase daily admissions or a punch card. In addition, the water slides, deep hopper, leisure pool, and spa will not be operational this season because of the amount of common touch points, challenge to maintain proper distancing, and to reduce water, chemical, and staffing costs.

How much does open swim cost and how do I register?

Residents are charged $7 per person per visit. They may also elect to purchase a punch card of 10 visits for $60. Nonresidents are charged $11 per person per visit. They are also able to purchase a punch card of 10 visits for $100. Punch cards can be purchased online, at the Lisle Recreation Center, or at Sea Lion Aquatic Park. Daily admission passes can be purchased at Sea Lion Aquatic Park.

What if the park is at capacity?

If the park is at capacity when you arrive, you will be asked to wait or to come back at a later time when there is space available. You will not be charged daily admission or any punches until you are able to enter the facility.

Will lap swim be available?

Yes. Lap swim will be available Monday-Friday from 6:00-6:45am. Lap swim admission is $4.00 for residents and $6.00 for nonresidents. Punch cards will also be available for lap swim. Resident punch cards are $30 for 10 punches and nonresident punch cards are $50 for 10 punches. Click here for more information.

Do I have to wear a face covering while I am in the facility?

Patrons are not expected to wear a face covering when they are in the water or on the pool deck in their group's socially distanced area maintaining six (6) feet from other groups.

Those fully vaccinated are not required to wear face coverings when entering and exiting the facility, in the locker rooms and restrooms, and in the sand play area.

Will patrons be screened prior to being given access into the facility?

Yes. The Illinois Department of Public Health recommends that all patrons be screened before entering the pool facility. During your check-in, staff will ask each patron about COVID-19 related symptoms/exposures and take a “non-contact” temperature. Any patron answering “yes” to a question or registering a temperature higher than 100.4 will be denied entrance and will not receive a refund. This information will NOT be recorded, there will only be a record of an entrance or denied entrance for each guest. Click here for the full list of screening questions.

Will the deck furniture be available for use?

Yes, deck chairs will be available for use at a first-come, first-served basis.

Will I be able to bring in my own food and drink?

Other than water, all other outside food/drink is prohibited. Outside food brings the risk of food allergies and increases the amount of unwanted guests like raccoons and skunks in our park. Please enjoy your food at the seating areas around the exterior of the park. See the admissions clerk while exiting for a hand stamp for re-entry.

Will there be a place to change and use the bathroom?

Yes. The locker rooms will be available for showering, changing and using the bathroom. While using the locker room, non-vaccinated patrons are expected to wear a face covering and keep social distance at all times. To reduce the amount of guests using indoor spaces at the same time, we recommend that you come to the facility showered and already in your swim wear. If at all possible, it is also recommended that guests change and shower at home at the conclusion of your swim time.

Will other aquatic programming be available?

Yes. Sea Lion Aquatic Park will offer swim lessons, swim team, and aquatic fitness programs.

Will birthday parties or group outings be available this summer?
