Lisle Women Invited To Contribute To Historical
Exhibit
On Sat., Mar. 7, the Museums at Lisle Station Park will open a historical
exhibit entitled, “Ladies of Lisle,” in honor of Women’s History Month. The
opening event will feature refreshments, tours of the historical buildings and a
“journaling corner” where participants can write stories and contribute photos
of women they feel have positively influenced Lisle. The contributions will then
be integrated into the exhibit.
The main portion of the exhibit opens at 1pm and focuses on 5 Lisle women who
have influenced the development of education, government, historic preservation
and business in Lisle.
At 2pm Lisle Park District’s museum curator, Rose Mary Hosé, will conduct a tour
of Beaubien Tavern, the Netzley/Yender Farmhouse and the Lisle Depot Museum and
provide visitors with in-depth look into the lives of the women who lived and
worked in each building.
The exhibit is free and will be open every Saturday in March from 1-3pm. The
museum campus, which is a facility of the Lisle Park District, is located in
Downtown Lisle at 921 School Street.
If you would like to contribute to the exhibit, or for more information, please
call Rose Mary at 630-968-0499. Submissions may also be emailed to
jalexenko@lisleparkdistrict.org.
